Vidalia is located in the northwestern portion of Toombs County in Georgia. You should keep your eye out for a Vidalia bed and breakfast for a great place to stay. Also you can find a Vidalia inn to stay at. Vidalia has given us the Vidalia sweet onion. It is only grown in this area and has become so popular that it is now the official state vegetable of Georgia. If you are a fan of this popular sweet onion then you definitely must go to The Vidalia Onion Factory as it is a must see! Free factor tours can be scheduled in advance. Vidalia also has a "Historic Main Street Progressive Dinner" in which dinner is in three courses, all the while touring the historic district. Another fun place to go is the Altama Museum of Art and History which houses an impressive collection of 20th century southern art as well as over 260 pieces of Staffordshire porcelain. They also have a Girl Scout Room, with Girl Scout paraphernalia dating back to 1929! If you love seafood than you won't want to miss Captain's Corner, a family restaurant that has a seafood buffet. If you crave a bit of Southwestern food during your stay in the Southeast, however, a great place to eat is Vallartas Mexican. Try their Burritos Guadalajara and you won't be disappointed (unless you're looking for something light!). Remember, a B&B is a great place to stay at in Vidalia, Georgia!
