Introduction
Come join us for a memorable bed and breakfast stay where excellence and comfort are mingled with the Southern charm of yesteryear and the exciting beat of the South's Olympic city. Upon entering this beautiful Queen Anne Victorian home, bed and breakfast guests are transported back to the time of the home's construction in 1892 by Colonel T.W. Latham, a prominent Atlanta businessman.
Guests arriving at Sugar Magnolia are greeted with traditional southern hospitality by owners Debi Starnes and Jim Emshoff, who create a friendly, casual atmosphere for each guest's stay. Sugar Magnolia, lovingly restored to its original charm and beauty, proudly displays its antiquity in many of its unique features --- a three-story turret and grand staircase, six fireplaces, oval beveled windows, hand-painted plasterwork and the front hall's magnificent crystal chandelier.
The dining room, restored to its turn-of-the-century elegance, offers the perfect setting for a full breakfast - or, as special courtesy to guests, breakfast can be delivered to the room for Cottage Suite guests. The artwork and antique furnishings in the living room beckon guests to linger awhile. Those with musical interests will enjoy the sights and sounds of the owner's childhood upright piano Jim often treats guests to his repertoire of jazz and blues tunes.
Special amenities include:
Fireplaces ~ Ceiling fan ~ Roof-top deck
Private balcony ~ Jacuzzi double tub (complete with bubble bath!)
Painted ceilings ~ Sleeping loft (excellent for families)
Kitchen in the Cottage Suite ~ Free Wi-Fi
Meeting rooms and complete in-house business center for business travelers
At the end of a busy day in the city, Sugar Magnolia invites its guests to enjoy complementary tea in the rocking chair sitting area outside their rooms, relax in the downstairs living room, or enjoy the outdoors on the wrap-around front porch or roof-top deck with a waterfall garden.
Sugar Magnolia is situated in the heart of the city. The surrounding neighborhood is on the National Register of Historic Places. Inman Park is Atlanta's first suburb, now the premiere Victorian district intown. Guests enjoy taking walking tours of the famous homes or enjoying the sites on their own.
