The Seventy-four Ranch The Seventy-four Ranch is a working ranch anchored by the historic Butler- Cape House and situated on beautiful pastureland with spectacular mountain views. The pond provides a great place for some quiet afternoon fishing. If you want to cool off, you can dangle your feet in Scarecorn Creek, which surrounds the ranch and is filled with private beaches and small islands for your adventures. Here at the Seventy-four Ranch we raise Texas Longhorn cattle, Corriente cattle, and quarter horses. There are usually any number of baby animals at a given time that children especially enjoy. The Seventy-four Ranch allows you to get up close and personal with nature and the way cowboys lived over 100 years ago. Learn to rope and ride and sing to the little doggies. |

You will soak up a sense of genuine Western history while you experience the legends of the Cape family and their involvement in the Moonshine Wars of North Georgia. You are welcome to browse our Western library and relax with a book on the history of the Old West, Civil War, Indians, horses and the like, in addition to modern selections. Come visit us and enjoy rocking on the back porch, listen to music, or head for the swings in the timber framed Well House. There are beautiful places here to nap, daydream, or read. If it's raining or too cold, then head to the Cowboy Saddlehouse with its game table (and selection of games and cards for your pleasure) and warm up with a roaring fire. Make friends with the cattle and horses who come to the fence for a visit and a rub.

The Seventy-four Ranch is the most unique bed and breakfast in North Georgia featuring the Old West ranch experience in wide open spaces for families, children, and couples to enjoy with genuine cowboys, trail rides, cookouts, campfires, boating, fishing, cattle, baby animals and much more in an authentic historic setting filled with beautiful antiques. Please contact us with any questions. We'd love to have you! Your hearty Breakfast is served each morning in the Civil War era Butler-Cape House. Combo pricing is available for the rental of two rooms or more. Our rooms with the exception of the Saddle House sleep 2 people and we have feather mattress cots available that can be set up in the rooms or cabins for additional sleeping requirements for $20 per person. |

| Overlook Suite | Our romantic cedar outside cabin features a vaulted ceiling and handmade French doors leading to a private balcony with the best view of the ranch. It is appointed with a woodstove, an oversize leather couch, antiques, a kitchenette filled with vintage dishes, small coffee maker, compact refrigerator, stained glass art of horses and an original oil painting. The private bath includes an 1824 clawfoot tub and antique stained glass windows collected throughout North Georgia. It has a queen size bed. | $195 per Night |
| Saddle House | This spacious rugged outside room was designed as a cowboy bunkhouse. It has four double bunk beds, a poker table, a woodstove, cowboy art, and of course our best saddles. It is perfect for families, scout troops, and kids camps. It sleeps four to eight people and is connected to the Porch Cabin by a shared bath. | $135 per Night |
| Porch Cabin | This cozy but rugged outside cabin has an indoor seating area, queen bed, stained glass, a 1930 Navajo rug, a Missouri Confederate cavalry flag, a woodstove and sheepskin rugs. It has a porch and a fenced seating area with Adirondack chairs, a swing and a chiminea. | $145 per Night |
| Blue Room | This beautiful room is located upstairs in the historic Butler-Cape House and features a vaulted ceiling and a gabled window. The four poster double bed is covered with quilts and feather pillows and an overstuffed leather chair provides a comfy reading corner overlooking the flower garden. | Hobert's Room | This room, upstairs in the Butler-Cape House, has a vaulted ceiling, gabled window, antiques, twin daybed with a trundle, and original photographs. The hardwood floors are original to the house. The large private bathroom for the Blue Room is on the first floor, and features a tub/shower combination, lots of fluffy towels and our private brand toiletries. | $85 per Night |
| Cowboy Cabin | This authentic replica of a mid-nineteenth century cowboy line cabin is made of beams rescued from an 1832 barn. It features a stack stone fireplace, cedar ceiling, cedar bed, cedar saddle rack and more. Charming wood shuttered windows allow closeup views of horses in the pasture and the corral. In keeping with the realistic experience, there is no power and no bath. Guests use the bathroom in the main Butler-Cape house. It is furnished with a wood stove for heating and cooking (authentic tin utensils and cookware supplied) and a separate eating area. It is cozy and charming, rustic or romantic - as the case may be. | $85 per Night |
