Introduction
Rusch Home Bed & Breakfast was built circa 1905 for a prominent doctor who resided there until he sold it to a second owner. When Gregory Rusch bought the home in January of 2002, he was only the third owner to reside at 520 Main Street. The home was abandoned and in a state of disrepair, which didn't scare the new owner - he was up for the challenge. The renovations and interiors are respectful of the period, but have a definite "Gregory Rusch" twist that is updated, fresh, inviting and comfortable. He mixes antiques and the unusual with a distinguished flare. Rusch is a master of color and uses it with great expertise. There are European influences, American antiques, and Folk art pieces and furnishings.
This is the 5th renovation Rusch has undertaken. Each time he swears it will be his last project of this magnitude, but before the paint dries he already has his eye on another neglected home that needs to be rescued. In fact, he has just put a contract on a 3500 square foot farmhouse that sits on 3 acres of land. The farmhouse is 3 blocks away from Rusch Home. Stay tuned for another Bed and Breakfast designed by Gregory Rusch.
Rusch Home is situated on 3 acres with lush gardens, which are in the process of being brought back to their original blooming beauty. The inn has 6 luxurious bedrooms and 3 ½ bathrooms. There are 3 sets of original pocket doors, and 8 fireplaces with unique period mantels. There are many architectural details and an abundance of charm.
