A 1830's plantation on 20+acre's of the original 1,400, just 20 minutes south of the Atlanta Airport, easily located 1 mile off I-85. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The guest rooms are located in a new carriage house finished with recycled heart of pine appointments. The carriage house is in keeping with the main house. The bedrooms are furnished with antiques and decorated with favorite family things. Each bedroom has a private bath with a Jacuzzi. There is a central greatroom and kitchen looking out over the pasture which is home to a herd of Dutch Belted Galloway cows and Theo the horse. If you are so inclined you may gather eggs for your breakfast from the chicken house. Recently added is a restored cottage that is now part of the B&B. There are 4 acres of gardens, featured in Southern Living (April 1999 and numerous other times), Atlanta Magazine, Atlanta Homes, County Living's Country Garden and County Accents. There is a formal garden with gazebo off from the terrace, herb garden, pool with pergola, a sunken garden with fish pond and summer house, rose garden, wildflower garden, native walk, secret garden with rain shelter, patience garden, shrub borders, new kitchen garden with dwarf fruit trees and bushes, and a mediation garden filled with Hosta, Azaleas, Camellias and Iris's. There is a scaled down tenant house for a playhouse called "Rose Cottage" with a white picket fence.

The Arnold cemetery is located near the playhouse and is in the process of being restored. There is also an experimental dry garden that is planted and left to itself. The house and gardens were on the first Garden Club of Georgia garden tour. The Innkeepers have an assortment of animals - cows, horse, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, dogs. Our Rates range from $175-$250 for double occupancy. The rate for each additional person is $25.00. A hearty breakfast is included in room rate. Smoking is not allowed in the buildings. We accepted payment with credit card (MC or Visa), Cash, Personal check & Travelers check. Consumption of alcohol is permitted in the guest house. A minimum stay of 2 days is required.
