Mountain Top Lodge at Dahlonega is only 5 miles from the quaint town of Dahlonega,
site of America's first gold rush. In the center of this picturesque town
is the original 1836 courthouse which now houses the gold museum.
Surrounding the Square are many other authentic 19th century buildings where
you can shop for antiques, art and mountain crafts. Numerous good
restaurants and additional interesting shops are also located on or near
the square. There are several places in town where you can pan for gold.
A 20 minute drive takes you to Amicalola Falls, the highest falls east of the
Mississippi, the Appalachian Trail or the North
Georgia Premium Outlet Mall. Thirty minutes away is Alpine Helen.
Hiking, biking, horseback riding, canoeing and mountain biking are all
nearby.
The public Great Room offers a warm and inviting spot for afternoon cookies and sherry, and is a place to read, play board games, watch TV, check emails or simply enjoy the company of other interesting guests.
Some of our recipes are featured in "Specialities of the House" - a collection of recipes from bed & breakfast across the United States.
