Barber-Tucker House, A Luxury Bed & Breakfast

Featuring the theme and period of the roaring 20's, Miss Isabel's rich fabrics and bold colors remind us of the carefree era of Speak Easy's, the Charleston, bootlegged wines and jazz. Named for Isabel Tucker, this 450 square foot room offers a king-sized bed, view of the side gardens, 12-foot ceilings, and a loveseat. Luxuriate amid down pillows, watch a movie, or finish paperwork at the antique Victorian writing desk. Private full bath (tub/shower combination)

With green velvet draperies and white shutters, it's easy to imagine Scarlet peeking through one of the four large windows to glimpse Rhett sauntering up the front walk. In "A Touch of Tara," you will be surrounded by the warm glow of old-world gold colored walls topped with a 12-foot ceiling. Open up the shutters and be bathed in sunlight. From your windows, view the majestic 100-year old oaks dripping with Spanish moss. Read in the comfortable over-sized rattan chair. Write your novel, plug in your laptop, or finish paperwork at the antique writing desk. With 325 square feet, this room is a great space to relax, read or work. At bedtime, you can easily drift off to sleep in the comfortable queen-size four-poster bed with down pillows. Private bath (shower only)

Mr. Henry's room was named for William Henry Barber, the man who built the house in 1905. This room has an Asian decor, which was very popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. "Mr. Henry's" features an original (now ornamental) fireplace, four large windows, a twelve-foot ceiling, period pieces, and a queen-sized feather bed. The only complaint we've ever had on this room is that it's hard to get out of the bed in the morning. Step back in time, and enjoy the elegance of a grandly appointed room. Whether you choose to work at the antique desk, read or just relax, this 360 square foot room offers a warm and inviting setting. Private bath (shower only)

Transcend from stress to serenity in Plantation Trace. The high ceiling and beautiful curved wall add to the spacious feel. A favorite of our honeymoon couples, this 490 square foot room is more akin to a suite with sofa, coffee table, and cherry four-poster bed. The dusty rose and midnight blues speak of turn of the century opulence. Private full bath with double vanity.

From the carriage house of old, we have created The Tac Room. With cathedral ceilings and octagonal windows that let you see the stars at night from your lushly appointed king-sized bed, The Tac Room combines old-world rustic charm with every modern convenience including a small refrigerator. Salvaged from the original carriage house, the heart of pine wainscoting adds a warm glow to the room. Kick back in the wing-backed recliner and watch the clouds roll by, soak away your worries in the cast iron slipper tub, or rejuvenate in our full body spa shower. Private full bath

Privately tucked away in the carriage house, away from the main house, is Sally's Cottage. Named after Sally Tucker, who grew up in the house, the cottage's bay window overlooks the lush palms and gardens of our pool. Original cherry beams, darkened with 100 years of aging, support the cottage's ceiling. The double-sized shower features a full body spa with two shower heads. Cozy and comfortable, Sally's Cottage is the perfect place to while away the hours curled up on the full-sized floatation sleeper bed, lounge in the window seat surrounded with pillows, or work at the table viewing the gardens. The cottage is handicap accessible. Private bathroom.
