Situated in the midst of 700 beautifully wooded acres outside of the little town of Whitesburg, Georgia, The Lodges at Historic Banning Mills offers visitors a glimpse into the rich history associated with this region. The 100-foot wide cascading Snake Creek provides a relaxing and picturesque backdrop for the charming Country lodge.

Be assured that your wedding guests will have plenty of recreational opportunities during their visit at Historic Banning Mills. Everyone will enjoy the beautiful hiking trails amongst the 170-year old ruins, an Olympic sized swimming pool, tennis and basketball court, sand volleyball, 18-hole putting green, satellite televisions and more.
Ample Comfortable Lodging for You and Your Guests
Historic Banning Mills has 12 spacious Jacuzzi rooms with private baths, large Jacuzzi tubs, hide-a-bed couches, gas fire logs and decks. We have 10 luxurious log cabin suites that are furnished with a queen sized bed, jetted tubs, private bath, breakfast area, gas fire logs, and a loft with two twin beds. Our 5 cozy cottages feature an efficiency suite with a kitchen, queen sized bed, private bath, futon, sleeping loft and electric fire logs. Our Lodge building has 20 large rooms. These rooms have 2 extra long and wide twin beds that can be made into a king bed, private baths and a deck overlooking the enchanting Snake Creek Gorge.
Delicious Food and Catering for Rehearsal Dinners and Receptions
Food is a main concern for most brides. With an on site chef, your fears can be relieved. We offer a wide variety of selections to choose from. If you prefer, we can customize a menu for your special day. We prepare food for rehearsal dinners and receptions. Together, we can plan a delicious formal sit down dinner, sumptuous buffet or ample tasty hors d'oeuvres. Please Note: We do not allow outside catering or food to be brought in.

The Day Spa at Historic Banning Mills provides the ultimate peaceful break from the normally hectic time surrounding your wedding day. Our massage therapists and aestheticians will work away your stress through gentle manipulations and treatments. We can make arrangements to provide several different types of facial and massage services for your bridal party. Spa services make a great gift for your bridesmaids!
Gorgeous Wedding Rehearsal Dinners, Bridal Showers, Reception and Ceremony Venues
Choosing the site for your wedding ceremony and reception is a big decision. At Historic Banning Mills, you have several different beautiful venues to choose from below.
- Main Lodge Dining and Tree Terrace Area combined will seat up to 150 guests at a time. It features a picturesque view of Snake Creek and the Gorge. The Tree Terrace makes a superb venue for rehearsal dinners and bridal showers.
- The Grand Pavilion provides a covered, open air space that lends itself to an outdoor feelwithout the fear of being rained out. It is built 40 feet off the ground on the high side and gives views of the Chattahoochee Valley. This venue is an ideal setting for a wedding ceremony and/or reception. This 6000 square-foot pavilion has a rock fire pit, a stage and bench style seating. It can comfortably accommodate up to 300 guests.
- The Outside Amphitheater can seat up to 200 quests. Situated overlooking the 100-foot wide Snake Creek and Horseshoe Dam ruins, this beautiful venue has a covered platform that can easily be decorated for your wedding ceremony. You won't find a more stunning, historic backdrop for your wedding than here.
- The McIntosh Room can hold up to 100 quests seated or 200 quests gathering style. Many wedding ceremonies and receptions are performed here. It is an exceptionally spacious room with lovely panoramic views of Snake Creek and the Gorge. This room features a wood floor in the middle for a wonderful dance area. It is versatile and fun to decorate.
- The Wilkenson Room holds up to 50 quests seated in theater style. It’s an enchanting room with a magnificent view and is wonderful for smaller weddings.
Small Wedding Parties Venues
We have other wonderful venues for smaller wedding parties. They are located on several picturesque deck areas and the Lodge fireplace area.
