The Watson House is currently in operation as a locally historic Bed & Breakfast on Chincoteague Island. Over successive years, it has offered 6 rooms, then 5, and now 4 rooms to overnight guests.
The house itself is built in the classic Chincoteague tradition for large homes on the island. It has a simple wrap around porch, where morning breakfast can be enjoyed in the early sunlight. All 6 rooms have private bathrooms with a seventh bathroom hidden off the pantry area.
Built in 1898, the house follows the Victorian decor of the era. All of the first floor and a portion of the second floor has central air conditioning and heating. Most bedrooms have through-the-wall air/heating units for guests' use.
In 1992, all new wiring and all new plumbing were installed. The porch and house roof have a brand new (2008) 50 year 'Carriage House' roof. The Watson House also has a fire suppression system covering every room and the attic. The front and side lawn have in-ground irrigation sprinklers.
