The House is situated on 3.1 acres within the city limits of Seagrove, a quaint little town of approximately 100 potters. Walk right next door to one of the pottery shops or go into the center of town, park and walk around the various pottery shops. Seagrove is the Pottery Capitol of the United States. The NC Zoo is a short 10 mile drive with the new title of being voted the world's best for the animals to free roam.
With an owners cottage separate from the bed and breakfast and having been completely renovated in 2006, this makes for a wonderful 1,343 sq. innkeepers home. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a loft as an office/storage offers plenty of space. Nothing is cramped.
This 1914 farmhouse, The Duck Smith House, has been completely remodeled in 2005. More formal but not stuffy...a special place to stay. Four bedrooms and bathrooms all are decorated to make this a favorite place to stay and come back. It's comfy and cozy. One bedroom is located on the first floor and one of the second floor bedrooms has two full size beds.
The wraparound porch has rockers and chairs to enjoy sitting outside. Good place to meet others or just relax. Out back are numerous bird feeders and bird houses for guests to watch. Birders come and spend hours watching and listening.
The B&B has 4 outbuilding and a carport. The 3 outbuildings are connected by a porch. Great place for weddings, events or a gift shop. The tobacco barn is original to the property and was located about a mile from the house since this was a tobacco farm. The woods have been cleared by one of the owners to make it more like a park with walking trails.
Spacious parking with a ramp up to the front door make this easy for those who do not want to do steps.
We also have a local bank who does offer mortgages to qualified lenders.
