Twice voted “Best B&B of the Midwest” by Midwest Living magazine. This is truly a great find!
Prospective buyers will be purchasing a successful business in a thriving community. Revenue has increased every year since 2004 with minimal increases in room rates. Door County's tourist economy continues to grow despite decreases in the rest of the state. Our local city and county visitor's bureaus boast a strong marketing presence, and the Reynolds House maintains a large and loyal repeat clientele.
Built in 1900 by a local industrialist, the house is architecturally significant as a transitional style from Queen Anne to Craftsman, with an ornate stone, shingle, and clapboard exterior, an expansive, wrap-around front porch, and a unique circular solarium.
The interior is filled with original natural oak woodwork, including the massive living room fireplace and main staircase, and is accented throughout with the original maple floors, leaded glass windows, and brass hardware.
The owner's quarters on the first floor feature a spacious, working kitchen with large prep/serving island, butler's pantry, and modern appliances. There is a formal dining room and solarium for serving up to ten guests. The first floor has a front parlor and living room – currently open to guests – which can be closed off to increase living quarters.
Three guest rooms are on the 2nd floor. The 3rd floor is a private suite with bedroom, bath, and sitting room. There is an occasional guest room on the 2nd floor rear with access off the kitchen – this could be added to living quarters. All rooms have private baths with walk-in showers. One room has the original claw-foot tub; there are whirlpool tubs in two others.
The house has four working gas fireplaces. There is extensive landscaping, including an herb garden and edible flower garden. Most of the antique furniture will be included in the sale.
