The Moondance Inn was built in 1874 and consists of two buildings, the B&B and the owner’s quarters in the carriage house. The two buildings are approximately 7,500 square feet in space.
The Moondance Inn is located in the heart of Red Wing, Minnesota's historic district. It is an easy walk to all downtown restaurants and shops. Red Wing is a popular year around tourist destination and is located on the Mississippi. The area features wonderful shopping, a multitude of golf courses, cross country and downhill skiing, and many water related activities.
The Moondance Inn has beautiful, original woodwork and Tiffany and Steuben chandeliers dating to 1905. It has two great rooms; an elegant first floor room with fireplace and 10 foot high mantel and a third floor room built of raw stone and pine planking.
The owner's carriage house is just behind the B&B and has a sitting room with kitchenette, a business office, and extremely large bedroom with walk-in closets, and a bathroom with shower and a two-person whirlpool.
The Moondance Inn has excellent growth potential. In 2006 the City of Red Wing expanded the number of guestrooms a B&B could have from 5 to 8 rooms. The Moondance could easily accommodate two more premium rooms. In addition the wedding and catering opportunities are significant. Current owner's have full time jobs in addition to the B&B and have only been able to host, on average, seven weddings per year plus a number of smaller dinners and private functions.
