The inn is an elegant, three-story structure. There are a total of 7 bedrooms and baths, two of which are two-room suites. Four of the guest rooms feature working fireplaces. The master bedroom is located on the first floor. The inn has a recently renovated kitchen with new appliances. There is central air, a total of 8 working fireplaces, 12' ceilings, and features a 1,000 square foot covered from porch and a sundeck off the 2nd floor reading (common) area.
The inn is situated on 1.25 acres and is surrounded by tall pines and shaded by oaks, dogwoods, hollies, and rhododendron. The grounds provide a pleasing combination of both the natural and the cultivated. Killarny House Inn is within easy walking distance of Historic Downtown Hendersonville. The inn is located in the Blue Ridge National Heritage area of Western North Carolina, just 20 miles from Asheville. Major attractions in the area include: Biltmore Estate, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pisgah National Forest, Flat Rock Playhouse, DuPont State Forest, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Park, and the Carl Sandburg Home and National Historic Site
It’s currently not operating as a Bed and Breakfast but is available for vacation rentals. The house has served, in the past, as a boarding house for Flat Rock players and as a guest house in the late 1980s and most recently as a Bed & Breakfast Inn until 2008.
