A jewel of an Inn in Camden, "The Jewel of the Maine Coast."
A jewel of an inn in Camden, 'The Jewel of the Maine Coast'. Picture a charming colonial 1790 home with all the modern conveniences of 2012, this is the Camden Maine Bed & Breakfast. The six room inn, all with private baths and some with fireplaces was renovated and decorated in the style of the period with attention to detail and perfection!
In 2005 and 2006 the current owners added all new mechanicals, new electrical wiring, cable and data pulled to all rooms the roof replaced, bathrooms renovated all new furniture, furnishings, window treatments, decor and light fixtures. Hardwood floors were restored and new installed. The feeling you get when you walk in is that you've stepped back in time but in comfortable luxury.
The inn is set back on a beautiful and spacious lot perched above Route 1 with a great view of Penobscot Bay, between the village of Camden and Camden Hills State Park approximately one half mile respectively from either location. On a summer day guests may catch a glimpse of a tall mast schooner or grand yacht sailing out of Camden Harbor. The midcoast of Maine and especially Camden is a major destination location for visitors. First rate shopping, restaurants, museums and outdoor activities on the sea or coast promises something for everyone. Beauty and history can be found on every turn, no matter what the season.
Owner's quarters are spacious and designed in the same historic decor as the inn, with beautiful hardwood floors and antique style lighting to match the period. There is a very large parlor, spacious bedroom, office/second bedroom, full bath, private entrance. The inn's kitchen is private, spacious with dining table space, access to the porch makes serving on the porch easy, and off the kitchen is a very large laundry and pantry area. Two car detached garage and shed are directly behind the inn.
