The Inn’s legacy of prominence among the many visitors to the historic seaport village of Fernandina is well established. Guests recognize and appreciate the owners’ careful preservation of the original architecture and authentic details of the 19^th century structures while introducing 21^st century amenities and conveniences including whirlpool tubs, wireless Internet access, flat screen  HDTVs and king beds clothed in luxury linens.

Situated among 500 year old oaks, meandering brick paths and lush tropical plantings, the  antebellum structures, constructed in 1856  and 1859 by a wealthy Boston banker, once a way-stop on the underground railroad, the Williams House (5 guest rooms and suites) and adjacent Hearthstone Cottage (4 guest rooms and suites) have evolved into one of Amelia Island’s most luxuriant small lodging and special event venues. Two additional guest rooms located on the garden level of the Carriage House were added in 2004 bringing the total number of guest accommodations to 11. 

Behind-the-scenes there is an equipped kitchen with generous butler’s service/ prep area, dedicated office space and full laundry facilities. Housekeeping and supply closets are strategically placed throughout the three-structures.

The second floor of the Carriage House is dedicated to the owners’ exclusive use. This private, 1,250 sq. ft. living space features heart pine flooring, fully equipped kitchen, generous living/dining area, bedroom and bath plus bright, all-season sun room.

Opportunities exist to grow the business.  There’s space for a swimming pool, development of additional outdoor event venues, the addition of guest rooms within the existing footprint, expansion of services and renewed emphasis on hosting destination weddings and elopements.
