Timeless & peaceful, this historic home, majestic grounds, forest dale, waterfall, log cabin, carriage house and barn suites are near beautiful Lake Cumberland.
Raintree Inn is a beautifully restored historic home located on 5.25 acres adjacent to land preserved for Lake Cumberland. The house was built in 1872 and was a film site for the Elizabeth Taylor movie “Raintree County.” The house has three bedrooms furnished with antiques and three full baths, a living room, dining room, family room, office, kitchen, white columned front porch, side patio for outdoor dining, back deck, entrance foyer, and basement/laundry. The exterior bricks are one foot thick. The exquisite grounds were professionally designed by a landscape architect. Behind the house is an historic log cabin.
Have you ever spent the night in a barn? The creatively restored barn features four guest rooms all with Jacuzzi tubs. Two rooms are suites with wood floors, cathedral ceilings and an eat-in kitchen area with a microwave oven.
The Carriage House has a large suite with two bedrooms and two full baths, a living room and kitchen with a log cabin-like walls. The ground floor contains a three car garage. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the forest dale to a stream and waterfall near the springhouse. A firepit is available for outdoor grilling. There is also a large additional barn on the property which could be used for outdoor entertaining events. The website (www.raintree-bedandbreakfast.com) provides more pictures and information. Southern Living Magazine described Raintree Inn; “Timelessness surrounds this quaint country inn. Emerald lawns and waves of lush greenery outline the property.”
