Introduction

Imagine...

... walking down the quaint narrow streets of the "Oldest City" in the United States. Then, imagine just walking up on the front veranda of the Carriage Way.

The Inn is located in the heart of the Historic District, in the center of fine restaurants, shops, museums, art galleries, Flagler College and Castillo de San Marco.

Carriage Way Bed & Breakfast - St. Augustine, Florida

The beautifully restored Victorian home was built in 1883 by the Masters family. In 1984, extensive restoration brought it back to its original grandeur. In December 1998, Carriage Way restored the "Cottage" that was built in 1885. It is just three doors down the street. There are two bedrooms in the cottage, each with its own Victorian style bathrooms. The living room/dining room common area and bedrooms are carefully appointed with antiques and reproductions. Reserve just one of the rooms or the whole cottage.

The Main Inn features nine rooms on the first and second floor. They are also filled with antiques and reproductions including oak, brass, canopy and four poster beds. Rates: $99 to $159/night Here too, as in Old St. Augustine, the atmosphere is leisurely and casual. Imagine sitting in the swing on the upstairs veranda and just watching the carriages go by.

Carriage Way has been featured in newspapers, magazines and books throughout the United States and abroad. In 1996, it was chosen by Fodor's Affordable Florida, one of eight lodgings in all of Florida that are "Fodor's Choices."

Selected in 2003 as one of the 125 facilities appearing in Best Places to Stay in Florida.

The Palm Beach Post ran a feature article on St. Augustine and selected Carriage Way as a travel destination. Articles have been written about Carriage Way in the Star Banner, Ft. Myers News Press, Miami Herald, Jacksonville Times Union, Sunday Oklahoman and the Sarasota Herald Tribune.

Special Touches

We will be happy to provide roses, champagne, dinner reservations and other "special touches." We can also prepare a gourmet picnic lunch or a "Honeymoon" breakfast in bed. Ask us to design a "Sweetheart" or "Honeymoon" package just for you. Special Touches must be arranged in advance, as we have a limited calendar.
