This former embassy, now an elegant, 10-room bed and breakfast inn, offers luxurious accommodations, warm hospitality and a genuine welcome to travelers from around the world.

Embassy Circle Guest House - Washington, DC Constructed in 1900, Embassy Circle Guest House offers 10 spacious guestrooms and elegant public rooms filled with fine antique furniture, beautiful Persian carpets, original paintings by friends from around the world, and free high-speed internet access - a thoroughly modern amenity! Located along Embassy Row at the intersection of four of DC's most popular and vibrant neighborhoods - Dupont Circle, Sheridan/Kalorama, Georgetown and Downtown - this charming bed and breakfast inn is a 5-minute walk to the Dupont Circle Metro Station, a 10-minute walk into Georgetown, and a fifteen-minute walk to the White House. Convenient to all of the cities museums, art galleries, embassies and universities, this elegant urban B&B is a perfect accommodation for business travelers and tourists alike.

The House

Built speculatively in 1900, the Embassy Circle Guest House was originally a grand private home. It has a beautiful entry hall, spacious rooms, high ceilings, ornate decorative plaster and wood moldings, a grand staircase and wonderful landings with pillars, arches and arched niches. During its long history, the house has been a private home (approximately 20 years), a vestry for a local church (approximately 20 years), and an Embassy of China (Taiwan) property (approximately 55 years). When we purchase the house in 2003, it had been abandoned for almost 15 years, and had been open to the elements much of that time. The building was in extremely poor condition and had suffered both extensive water and fire damage. Over a 3 ½ year period, Raymond and a team of dedicated craftsmen lovingly restored the house to its former beauty, going to extraordinary lengths to find, replicate and finally re-sculpt and mold some of the original decorative elements.
