Carriage House on Capitol Hill

This home offers four guest rooms, all located on the second floor of the house and accessed by a grand spiral staircase. Each room is furnished with a queen-size bed and includes a private bath with large walk-in shower. Rooms include complimentary wireless Internet access, and TV with cable. A relaxed, continental style breakfast is available each morning from 7:30-9:30. Enjoy fresh coffee, select teas, local pastries, tasty cereals, seasonal fruit and a choice of juice. The family includes a cat named Mimi who also calls the house her home. Your hosts allow Mimi minimal access to the guest rooms, however those with allergies should consider whether this B&B is right for them. Regretfully, children cannot be accommodated at the Carriage House itself, however, just across the courtyard, a separate facility - "The Coach House" can. The Coach House is a self-contained, 2-story Town House with about 900 sq. ft. of space including: 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, living/dining areas, kitchenette, and laundry facilities.

• All cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to your arrival.
• Cancellations made within two weeks will result in a refund only if the room(s) are re-rented.
• Rates do not include 14.5% lodging taxes and a flat $10 reservation fee.

The Carriage House is conveniently located overlooking Garfield Park on Historic Capitol Hill, downtown Washington DC. Guests will find the Capitol South Metro station, a short 5 blocks (10 minute walk) from the home, and Pennsylvania Ave, with an assortment of shopping, and restaurants just 6 blocks. The US Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court and Folger Shakespeare Library are also a reasonable walk, about 15 minutes. Capitol Hill's famed Eastern Market, offering fresh foods and a weekly flea market is a very walkable 7 blocks from the house. Access to the Smithsonian and monuments on the National Mall are a short ride on public transportation.

• For those persons traveling to Washington by car, street parking is the best available at the home.
• Visitors are welcomed by the family cat. While she is not allowed in the guest room, she does call the house her home, important for those who may be allergic.
