The US Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court and Folger Shakespeare Library are also a reasonable walk, about 15 minutes.

Introduction

Welcome to the Carriage House Bed and Breakfast on Capitol Hill. This home includes a newly constructed main house and a historic Carriage house built at the turn of the last century with a central patio and garden. A private home, it is decorated with a mix of new furniture and treasured hand picked antiques, favorites of your hostess. There are 2 guest rooms, a elegant comfortable living room, and formal dining room. The eat-in kitchen features a personal design of the owners with yesterday appeal merged with modern amenities. Your hosts are long time Washington DC residents currently working for our National Government. Together with their son, they make their new home here on Capitol Hill. There are 2 guest rooms, each located on the second floor. Each room is furnished with a queen-sized bed, premium lines, and a private bath with double sized walk in shower.

Rates and Policies:

  • Rates: $125-$210
  • All children welcome.
  • Non-smoking.
  • When you make an advanced reservation, we require a nonrefundable deposit of $25 per room.
  • A deposit of $100 is required if you are reserving an apartment for 2 weeks or more.
  • We require the balance for your entire stay two weeks prior to your arrival day.
  • If your reservation is made less than 2 weeks in advance, payment in full is required at the time of reservation.
  • All cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to your arrival.
  • Cancellations made within two weeks will result in a refund only if the room(s) are re-rented.
  • Rates do not include 14.5% lodging taxes and a flat $10 reservation fee.

Location:

The Carriage House is conveniently located overlooking Garfield Park on Historic Capitol Hill, downtown Washington DC. Guests will find the Capitol South Metro station, a short 5 blocks (10 minute walk) from the home, and Pennsylvania Ave, with an assortment of shopping, and restaurants just 6 blocks. The US Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court and Folger Shakespeare Library are also a reasonable walk, about 15 minutes. Capitol Hill's famed Eastern Market, offering fresh foods and a weekly flea market is a very walkable 7 blocks from the house. Access to the Smithsonian and monuments on the National Mall are a short ride on public transportation.

  • For those persons traveling to Washington by car, street parking is the best available at the home.
  • Visitors are welcomed by the family cat. While she is not allowed in the guest room, she does call the house her home, important for those who may be allergic.
  • Closest Metro-Capitol South station, 5 blocks, blue line
  • Walking distance to the US Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, Folger Shakespeare Library.
