Of the innkeeping couple, Susan is a Nantucket native and third generation innkeeper. Her grandmother owned "Hadden Hall" and her mother was a restorer and owner of the "Eighteen Gardner Street Guest House." Susan is a teacher with a specialty in Special Education. She currently teaches second grade and supervises the innkeeping here.

Stephen is a designer and builder of fine furniture. His shop is at the inn and his furniture pieces are in homes across this country, as well as Japan and Italy. Steve's work can be seen throughout the inn mixed with antiques, as well as in the hand-tooled raised paneling and coffered ceiling of the sunporch, and in hundreds of little features at the inn: pierced tin lighting fixtures, mirrored wall sconces in the upstairs hall, down to the design of our T-shirts and mugs.
