Introduction
Welcome to High Acres, a 150 acre hilltop estate surrounded by meadows where wildflowers dance, newborn foals frolic, and deer graze at the edge of the woodland.
Our 1743 colonial transformed into a full service country bed and breakfast has served the discerning traveler since 1994. Our four spacious bedrooms provide an oasis of tranquility and our sumptuous country breakfast is the start of a memorable day.
Our 150 acre retreat is yours to enjoy while you are our guests. Your host, Peter, has spent untold hours maintaining the trails and grounds for your pleasure. Extensive lawns, landscaping, gardens and stone walls are for our guests relaxation and enjoyment.
When adventure beckons, golf, tennis, fishing, sailing and swimming are close at hand. Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos, numerous museums, and art galleries are all within an easy drive. Come see the coast, but stay in High Acre Country. Liz and Peter will provide all you require for a relaxing holiday.
Guest Rooms:
Molly's Room is a bright, sunny room with windows looking toward the east garden. The French country hues are complemented by a pink velvet love seat and white iron bed which create a romantic feeling.
In Jane's Room a tiger maple canopy bed is decorated with antique lace. The bath is large with a claw foot tub/shower and an antique English washstand as the sink.
1743 Room. In the heart of the house this cozy room has a lovely cherry bed with a handmade fishnet canopy. The room has views of the east garden as well as the west meadow.
Breakfast may be served in our country kitchen where you can enjoy long views in three directions.
Our Dining Room features 18th and 19th century antiques and a warming fireplace.
