Come, experience New England and have where you stay be as enjoyable and memorable as the places you visit. The Inn was built by Captain William Gonzales Grant in 1754 for his wife Mercy Adelaide Avery. It was used as a garrison during the American Revolution and a haven for slaves during the Civil War. A major restoration between 1994 and 1996 brought the home back to its original grandeur and prominence in this National Historic Village. The Inn features a seven foot wide staircase, hand hewn beams, canopy beds, fireplaces and three common rooms plus two out door decks.
