This was an absolute treat. The hospitality was warm, the lodging was lovely and comfortable, the setting was beautiful. If only we could find a place like this for every trip we would like to take. Thank you very much to the Scotts.

This place was great! Bob & Sue gave us good directions beforehand. They are very welcoming and helpful without bothering you. They are very laid back & didn't mind our younger two kids laying claim to their two dogs who were friendly. Kids loved the cabin where we stayed. More than 5 people would have been a little cramped though. All the kitchen dishes, utensils, condiments & drink mixes such as coffee, tea, hot cocoa that you could want. We cooked several of our meals there. Brunch on our last morning was awesome & Bob & Sue truly seemed to enjoy having guests as much as we enjoyed visiting with them & their other guests over breakfast. The only negative was having to leave such a lovely, relaxing setting after 2 days. Very homey details. Grounds well kept.

"The BEST!"

We recently traveled throughout New Mexico and Colorado, staying at several places during the trip. Sundance Bear was our first B&B and by far the best place we stayed during the entire trip. The grounds and view are just amazing, and the warm welcome we received from Bob and Sue was genuine and made us feel right at home. They are very knowledgeable about the area and shared that with us, resulting in interesting discussions. We traveled to Mesa Verde and rode the Durango Railroad from the lodge. Bob even got up early on our railroad day to serve us muffins and yogurt before we left, ensuring a good start to the day. The other mornings we were served delicious hot breakfasts and then given snacks to get us through the day. We were treated better at Sundance Bear lodge than we treat ourselves at home! And oh, yes - Bob and Sue are art collectors and the pieces we enjoyed in the great room were just unbelievable - like enjoying our own art museum while sitting beside a nice, warm fire. We stayed in the Mesa Verde room and were very comfortable - Bob had even lit the corner fireplace to warm our Florida blood! We thank the lodge so much for making our vacation wonderful and highly recommend it to all travelers.

Stayed with friends in the Lodge for 2 nights where there are two rooms with a great room which we had all to ourselves. This place is extraordinary. They are on 80 stunnng acres with a beautiful pond and views to die for. Hosts were terrific and made us feel right at home. Why would anyone stay in a roadside motel when this place is minutes away. Breakfast included at the lodge was great--tons of delicious food and lots of choices. I notice everyone gives this B&B 5 stars and we are no exception.
