Salida, Colorado Bed and Breakfast: The Thomas House Bed and Breakfast at the heart of local history. Located just a block from The Arkansas River, it was built in 1888 as a rooming house for the bustling business brought by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. In the 1880's, Railroad workers flocked to the young town, which became a major intersection for both narrow and standard gauge rail.
