Rocky Ford is a peaceful agricultural community, located on the Hwy 50 corridor in southeastern Colorado. Those settling into a Rocky Ford bed and breakfast can find a host of activities in and around the city. Throughout the year there are many interesting things to do and see. In June, the Cruisin' Into Summer Festival features car shows, food and craft vendors, and more. On tap every August is the Arkansas Valley Fair, which is the longest running continuous fair in Colorado. Another unique event in Rocky Ford is the deliciously famous Watermelon Day. It’s a time when everyone gets to take home a free watermelon! But truly, any day is a great day to book a Rocky Ford B&B or Rocky Ford inn. However, nature lovers are especially drawn to this quiet town. Rocky Ford provides many opportunities for spying local wildlife, from birds to other small animals. A great place for glimpsing wildlife is just a hop, skip and a jump outside of town on Highway 266. Visit the Rocky Ford Wildlife Area to walk among trees, sit by ponds and simply get closer to nature. When it's time to eat there are many great restaurants available, too, including a wonderful Mexican locale called the Taqueria Mexico No.2. For those who want another international option, a traditional Chinese buffet is served at the China Kitchen on Elm Avenue.
