Introduction

River Run Inn was built in 1892 as the Chaffee County Poor Farm. Today it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places and bears little resemblance to its humble beginnings. A gracious front porch invites guests to relax and view the glorious Salida Colorado sunsets. A smaller back porch is a favorite for morning coffee and watching hummingbirds. The Bed and Breakfast sits on five acres in the country and being on the Arkansas River, with private fishing for our guests, not only makes it a peaceful retreat, but idyllic for the angler.

and beautiful 1890's Inn, offers a stunning place for a memorable event.

River Run Inn's delightful country setting (just minutes from Salida, Colorado) and spaciousness make it a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts, group stays, reunions, weddings, and romantic getaways. If you are looking for a bit of luxury, great food, peaceful surroundings and a convenient location, we have it all.

The Inn has been fully restored and inside you'll find a comfortable setting. The Great Room with a Library is where the guests like to gather. There are six guestrooms, one on the first floor and five on the second floor, decorated with poster beds and period furniture. Each has its own newly-tiled bath. Many have Rocky Mountain views. The third floor dorm has been newly decorated with the addition of a sitting room with DVD player and a king bed in the alcove, including the 10 single beds.

Breakfasts are hearty and delicious, and for the late-night "sweet-tooth" there are candies left on the pillows.

Policies

All rooms are designed for two guests; additional guests - $15 per person.
No indoor-smoking, no pets, children over twelve welcome.
No charge for cancellations made two weeks prior to the date of your reservations.
Up to three days prior to your stay - 10%.
Less than three days notice - full rate, unless it can be re-rented.
Check-in: 4 p.m. (If later than 7 p.m., please notify us).
Check-out: 10:30 a.m.
