Introduction
Within sight of Colorado's Continental Divide, the Rarus Bed and Breakfast is nestled beside pristine Chalk Creek. During your stay, you'll enjoy all the comforts of home and marvel at the natural beauty this remote location offers.
The Rarus Cabin can be reached in the winter and spring via snowmobile, cross-country skis, or snowshoes. Your hosts will provide a snowmobile ride to and from the cabin as needed. Provisions and luggage are packed in and out for your convenience. The distance is five miles one way.
The Rarus Bed and Breakfast is family owned and operated. It's "off the grid," 10,800 feet high in the Rockies and far from major highways, crowded National Parks, and tourist traps. "Off grid" means the cabin is powered by solar energy. Radiant floors are heated using standing dead wood instead of live trees for firewood. The well water is sweet and clean! All the comforts of home, energy efficient, and environmentally friendly.
Reservations are accepted December 15 through April 15 (winter/spring) and June 15 through October 31 (summer/fall). At times, the high elevation allows the Rarus Cabin to remain open into May (snow conditions permitting.
The Cabin has a log beam, open design living room with native granite fireplace, dining area, and well-stocked kitchen. The master bedroom has a California king size sleep number bed and bathroom. A second bedroom and bathroom suite upstairs has a queen size bed with and an oversized chair sleeper. The loft overlooks the living room and also has an oversized chair sleeper.

Only one party of guests is booked at a time to enure privacy.
