Situated on forty acres surrounded by many large ranches and adjacent to BLM ground, Not on the Beaten Path is able to offer a perfect place for you to enjoy the various vacation offerings. You will find genuine cowboys at every junction.

Within a mile is the famous Byrd Homestead, the first recorded homestead in the Yampa Valley. Just another 3/4 mile is the fabulous Antlers Restaurant, Montgomery's charming Grocery & Mercantile Store and the friendly, informative Ranger Station.

• Hiking to the top of the 11,000 ft. plateaus of the Flattops is worth the hike. However, the entire area surrounding Yampa is home to many recreation areas, beautiful buttes and unexpected lakes and streams.
  
• The drive back to I-70 and a day trip to Vail or Aspen is one spectacular site after another.
  
• We can provide a wonderful home base for wintertime sports such as cross country skiing, riding snowmobiles and snow shoeing.
  
• In the summertime there is fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, river rafting and horseback riding.
  
• We are equipped to board your horses and kennel your dogs.
  
• There is no "off season" at Not on the Beaten Path where the gurgling sound of Watson Creek can be heard from the back deck area.

The Inn's dining area, adjacent to a fully equipped kitchen is ready for breakfast, lunch or dinner. In the Great Room you can enjoy the fireplace, cable TV and VCR, leather sofa and mission style rockers, desk and comfortable recliner. The eclectic decor continues into a den with Danish style furniture. There are accommodations for up to eight guests with private baths for each bedroom. The Master bedroom is furnished with custom lodgepole pine pieces.
