With eleven guestrooms, including six suites (5 with full kitchens) all with full, private baths, The La Plaza Inn is the perfect discovery headquarters for your Southern Colorado vacation. We have a bridal suite and numerous rooms that will accommodate your family. La Plaza offers a complimentary continental breakfast.

The Plaza Cafe offers fresh donuts and a cafeteria style buffet breakfast as well as lunch. Tortilla Flats Steakhouse & Cantina, also on the main floor in the evening dining room, offers high quality, grain-fed beef for the best steaks west of Omaha!

La Plaza Inn maintains a large meeting room for banquets, wedding receptions, meetings, seminars, corporate think tanks and family reunions. There is a small dance floor and large built-in projection screen. The room can accommodate up to 100 people.

  • Reservations are recommended 1 week in advance during winter and 3 weeks in advance during summer.

Walsenburg is located between exits 49 and 52 on Interstate 25, and also sits astride US 160, the primary east-west route in Southern Colorado. The town is just east of La Veta Pass, gateway to the San Luis Valley and is at the northern entrance of the Scenic Highway of Legends. It is 70 miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Monument and 28 miles from Cuchara ski area. The town has two museums, a municipal swimming pool and a municipal golf course. Just west is Lathrop State Park, which has lakes for swimming, boating, windsurfing, and fishing. The San Isabel National Forest is south and west of town. It includes over one million acres of beautiful scenery with snow-capped mountain peaks, spring wildflowers, autumn colors, crystal clear mountain lakes, and clear blue skies to enjoy. The area offers great golfing, fishing, hiking and biking.
