We invite you to stay with us at the Apple Orchard Inn and leave the pressures of daily life behind. Relax and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the breathtaking Animas Valley.
Awarded AAA Four-Diamond Award for Excellence since 2003 and was selected as "Colorado's Best Bed and Breakfast" by the Denver Post, June 6, 1999.
This luxury Durango bed and breakfast boasts an ideal location, just 15 minutes from town and a 20-minute drive north to Durango Mountain Resort (formerly Purgatory Ski Resort). In Durango, you'll find the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Train Station and wonderful restaurants, art galleries, and great shopping. Durango Mountain Resort is a great place to ski or snowboard in the winter and to enjoy classical music with Music in the Mountains, hike, take the Alpine Slide, or have a picnic in the summer. Other activities and attractions include Mesa Verde National Park, fishing and fishing guides, jeep tours, whitewater rafting and kayaking, horseback riding, and hiking.
While staying at the Apple Orchard Inn, enjoy mountain views, beautiful flower gardens and award-winning landscaping complete with trout ponds, waterfalls and streams. Each day starts with a full, hearty breakfast prepared for each guest. All baked goods and jam are homemade; Triple Chocolate Chip cookies are baked daily and are always available to guests. Complimentary wine and beer, as well as soft drinks, lemonade and iced tea and snacks are served each afternoon and evening.
The Apple Orchard Inn is a unique B&B property set in the beautiful Animas Valley, 8 miles north of Durango at Hermosa. Lined with fruit orchards and historic farms, County Road 203 leads you to the Apple Orchard Inn. You will enter the 4 1/2 acre property on a drive that takes you through the orchard to the Inn, a large, farmhouse-style home with four guest rooms and six quaint country cabins, which we prefer to call cottages.
Kathy Clamp, innkeeper, will welcome you into the warmth of her elegant home. In the main house, the sitting room is furnished with comfortable furniture, has a river rock fireplace, and original artwork. Exposed beams, large windows and Brazilian cherry wood floors grace the first floor. In the dining room or on the patio, a full hearty breakfast is served to you each morning while you enjoy the views of the surrounding cliffs and mountains and watch the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Train as it steams by the bed & breakfast.
