Introduction
Converted from its original status as a Craftsman-style family home in 1978, the Wine Way Inn is Calistoga's oldest Bed and Breakfast Inn. The original adaptation and the loving care of the current and previous owners have preserved the best of the original architecture, while providing accommodation with period charm and modern convenience.
Comfort, Charm, Cuisine!
Built at the turn of the century the Wine Way Inn is one of the finest examples of Craftsman architecture in Calistoga. Reputedly built for Leland Stanford, our builders tell us that the structural timbers are American white pine that must have been shipped around the horn from South Carolina.
Wine Way Inn features six delightful guest rooms all with private baths. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated with peaceful colors and soft furnishings that complement the original turn-of-the-century bead board walls. English and American antiques add the finishing touch to these romantic rooms. You may even find the “secret drawer,” where guests have left notes with many colorful memories over the years.
The guest dining room and parlor have the original shoulder high oak wainscoting and leaded glass, built-in cabinets along with a charming fireplace.
Each morning we serve a distinctive gourmet breakfast that will delight your palate and your eye. We serve our own delicious coffee blend produced exclusively for us by the Calistoga Roastery. It is available for sale as many guests request their own "take home" stash.
In the evening we serve a variety of wines from Napa and surrounding wine areas. We aim to provide wines that our guests will probably not find at home to add to their enjoyment of their wine country visit. Wines are accompanied by simple appetizers or a cheese plate, just a little something to wet the appetite before guests depart for dinner.

The building is complemented by the stunning multi-level redwood deck at the rear of the house. Always a wonderful surprise for our new guests, the deck and garden provide an ideal spot to relax and soak up the last of the day's sunshine while enjoying the views of Mount St. Helena and the Palisades. On warm nights, guests congregate here to enjoy the evening's complimentary wine and appetizers, share stories of the day's wine finds, or simply make new friends. For those preferring more intimate conversation, there is plenty of room to find your own private spot.
Located near the historic downtown of Calistoga, the inn is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the famed mud baths and spas. Napa, Sonoma and Russian River wineries are within a short drive, and the Pacific and Mendocino coasts are just a little further drive.
Calistoga is located 80 miles north of San Francisco at the top of the Napa Valley and the foot of Mt. St. Helena. Calistoga, population 5,000, is a popular destination for visitors to the heart of the Wine Country and is best known for its geothermal hot springs and mineral water and is home to California's Old Faithful Geyser.
