From the Bay Area Take Hwy 101 North to Cloverdale. Then take Hwy 128 West (about 55 miles) through Anderson Valley and enjoy the wineries, apple orchards and redwoods. At Hwy 1 turn north to Mendocino (about 9 miles). Turn left at the first stop light (and only one in Mendocino) on to Little Lake Road. Turn left on the second street which is Howard. Go two blocks to the Whitegate Inn on your left. Total time 3- 3 1/2 hours unless you get delayed at one of the tasting rooms.
