Introduction
The Hills Bed and Breakfast is a charming, private one-bedroom suite in the Upper Rockridge neighborhood of North Oakland. The suite, with a private entrance, is approximately 650 square feet, and consists of three rooms. The bedroom, with a queen-size bed and a large closet, also has a desk with a chair. The living room features a fireplace and a deck overlooking a beautiful garden with fruit trees and spectacular sunsets over the San Francisco Bay. It is furnished with a futon couch, an easy chair, lots of games and puzzles, and a dining table with four chairs.
We are strategically located between Montclair, Rockridge, and Piedmont Avenue, three of Oakland's most popular shopping and dining areas. Municipal bus transportation on our block is available to take you to Jack London Square, Bay Area Rapid Transit District, and San Francisco.
The fully-equipped kitchen, with a small dinette set, includes a stove, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. The spacious bathroom has a tub/shower, hair-dryer and a make-up/shaving mirror.
Additional amenities in the apartment include wireless internet connection, a 27-inch satellite-equipped TV, a VCR, and a stereo system. Breakfast items provided in the suite for the first couple of days include fresh California fruits, home-baked granola and breakfast breads, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee and tea.

We have enjoyed hosting out-of-town guests since 1994. Here's what some of them had to say:
"Such a nice respite after intense days of tourism. Thanks for your hospitality and your homey touches."
"Thank you for your stylish, comfortable apartment, beautiful garden, fine food and kind hospitality. We couldn't have hoped for a more enjoyable stay."
"We found a home away from home. Really wish we were staying longer."
"Thank you for the delightful oasis. The granola, cranberry bread, and the peacefulness have made our stay regenerative. Hope to return like so many of your visitors have."
"Where else can you reach outside your bedroom window and pick oranges from a tree? Where else can you kick off your shoes and feel as if you're home?"
