Just as the English Tea Garden Inn recalls another era, so does the town of Cloverdale. This small town of 6000 offers a quiet setting where visitors can stroll down tree-lined streets, past vintage homes and churches, or discover the Russian Rivers' many good fishing spots. For many visitors, the Russian River is the heart of Sonoma County recreation, winding its way through some of the area's most spectacular scenery. The river provides a venue for swimming, canoeing, rafting, fishing, boating, and all styles of relaxing.
Just 75 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, the area is home to some of California's finest wineries and restaurants. Northwest Sonoma County encompasses beautiful coastal and grape growing areas from Guerneville, Sebastopol, and Forestville to the west, to Healdsburg, Geyserville and north to Cloverdale. The area is full of history as Northwest Sonoma County is one of the oldest viticulture areas in California.
