Shore House at Lake Tahoe

The Shore House offers nine guest rooms each with a private outdoor entrance, private bathroom, gas log fireplace and cozy mountain lodge atmosphere. Each room is decorated with knotty pine walls, custom-built log furniture, and Scandia Down comforters and featherbeds. The Shore House also offers a large outdoor lake front Hot Tub, perfect to enjoy a gorgeous Tahoe sunset after a day of skiing or hiking.

We offer 4 types of cruises in the warmer months of the year only. We take only 2 guests on our private cruises and a minimum of 4 or 6 guests on our other 3 cruises, so there is plenty of room on board. Bring your camera because cruising Lake Tahoe is truly spectacular.

We now have our own fleet of kayaks for our guests to use. Singles and Doubles. Now you can kayak right from the Shore House in the warmer months. When you arrive at the Shore House, let us know when you would like to go kayaking and we will take care of the rest.

Many people do not realize how much there is to do at Lake Tahoe. Relax while The Shore House helps you plan the perfect vacation with activities including skiing, snowmobiling, fishing and much more. Our bed and breakfast lodge is ideally nested, lake front at the base of the mountains on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, central to all of the activities and attractions. Here are some suggestions including some of our favorite activities for the perfect Tahoe visit. Of course, we can help you design your own itinerary around your particular interests.

• 3-hour cruise on the Shore House Yacht "Lady of the Lake" or sailing tour on the Woodwind.
• Drive around the lake, stopping at Emerald Bay for a hike to Eagle Falls and Eagle Lake.
• Canoe or kayak to Crystal Bay Point
• Get a relaxing massage at the Shore House.
• Parasailing or jetskiing off the beach in Kings Beach
• Rent bikes - ride along the Truckee river or west shore
• Hike 2 1/2 miles to 5 lakes above Alpine Meadows.
• Take the tram to the top of Squaw Valley and go ice skating.
• Take a fishing charter on Lake Tahoe. With our recommended guide you'll catch your limit.
• 18 holes of golf at the Incline village Championship Golf Course.
• River rafting on the Truckee River from Tahoe City to River Ranch
• Horseback riding into the mountains above Squaw Valley.
• Hot air balloon ride over Lake Tahoe
• Shop for gifts to take home in Tahoe City and Truckee
• Skiing at Alpine Meadows or Northstar-at-Tahoe. (We have discounted lift tickets)
• Drive around the lake, stopping at Zephr Cove for a 2-hour cruise on the M S Dixie.
