Introduction
Artist and landscape architect Karen Gray settled in Point Reyes twenty-five years ago when she moved into the historic Point Reyes Schoolhouse, built in 1878, and refurbished it as her private home.
The Old Point Reyes Schoolhouse Compound sits at the top of the hill just above the tiny town of Point Reyes Station. The compound is quiet and peaceful, yet just an easy five minute walk to the village. Point Reyes Station basks in the sunshine afforded by its place on the inland shores of Tomales Bay where the Point Reyes Peninsula acts as a shelter from the ocean fog all year.
JASMINE
COTTAGE
Surrounded by privacy, Jasmine Cottage is the perfect hide-away for a romantic sojourn or quiet family time alone in the country. Jasmine Cottage features a queen bed set apart in an intimate alcove, two twin cabinet beds in the garden room, and a full kitchen.
GRAY'S
RETREAT
Gray used the rustic barns indigenous to rural California as a prototype for Gray's Retreat. An antique four poster queen in the bedroom looks out to the morning sun patio. The day bed converts to a single or double bed and the couch folds out as a double bed. A fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with tub and shower, laundry room, private phone line, television with cable and VCR, and stereo complete the up-to-date amenities.
BARN
LOFT
The Barn Loft is a small hideaway featuring the best views on the compound with a sleeping loft, a futon/sofa which converts to a double bed, and a complete kitchen.
Rates range from $185 - $245 per night.
The three places may be rented separately or you may rent the entire compound for special events.
