Santa Ynez is located in the southern part of Santa Barbara County. It is best-known for the Live Oak Music Festival, which is held in the summer months and features folk, jazz and classical performances. There is also a half marathon through Wine Country every May, which starts in Santa Ynez. If hiking appeals more to you, you may enjoy the views from the Santa Ynez Falls, which are just two hours away. The Kalyra Winery, another local attraction, was featured in Alexander Payne's movie "Sideways." Because Santa Ynez is famous for its wine, a great restaurant option might be the Vineyard House Restaurant. Alternatively, the Chumash Casino Resort is nearby - visitors can enjoy a meal in the restaurant there and try their luck in the casino afterward.
