Introduction
Welcome to Roundstone Farm - a place of serenity where guests discover the pleasurable company of new friends, the sights and sounds of nature's harmonies, delightfully fresh breakfasts ... and the freedom to explore the Point Reyes National Seashore or the long forgotten rhythms of one's own heart.
Enveloped in ten acres of rolling hills, this five guest-room bed and breakfast inn is located in the
small town of Olema - on the northern coast of California.
Horses, ponds, bullfrogs and over 360 species of birds can be enjoyed from this setting. Simultaneously, ever-changing panoramic views of Mt. Wittenberg, Olema Valley, Inverness Ridge and Tomales Bay provide a visual banquet for the inn's guests.
Within minutes of Roundstone Farm, the Point Reyes National Seashore has hundreds of miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. There are over 20 pristine ocean and bay beaches -- great for exploring and kayaking -- tide pooling, bird sanctuaries and redwood forests to enjoy.
Roundstone Farm was built in 1987, by the family that still owns the inn. Connemaras and Arabian horses are raised on the land that surrounds the inn. The farm itself is named for the village of Roundstone in the Connemara district of western Ireland, where Connemaras first lived as wild ponies.
Frank Borodic and Karen Anderson share a passion for the inn that began with a timeless vision. "My mom purchased this land and later built the inn," Karen explains. "She wanted to create a place that welcomes all people - a healing and energizing inn that would far outlive her ... and it has."
Innkeeper Frank Borodic is most often the morning chef. Skillful in the culinary arts, Frank prepares a full country breakfast each morning. Fresh fruit, juices, breads and egg dishes are specially made from the freshest ingredients and presented with a natural sense of style.
Equal to the dining experience is the conversation among guests. Memories are in the making as guests share travel experiences, stories from one's life and times, and even cherished family recipes.
There is much to do at the inn. Afternoon refreshments can be enjoyed on the flower-laden deck or while comfortably seated in the expansive living room with its 16-foot ceilings, skylights, and huge glass windows overlooking the valley and the wooded slopes beyond. Comfortable couches and chairs invite you to relax. A library of books awaits those with a love for the written word. And, in a private outdoor setting, a hot tub provides views of the magnificent countryside.
Through the years, guests have come to the inn looking for a fresh travel experience, longing to spend quality time with loved ones, or seeking to find a deeper meaning to life. We hope you will come and discover the magic of Roundstone Farm.
