Wide, shady porch - Old World Inn - Napa, CA The historic Old World Inn was built in 1906 by local contractor E. W. Doughty for his private town residence. This home is an eclectic combination of architectural styles detailed with wood shingles, wide shady porches, clinker brick, and leaded and beveled glass. The Inn is furnished throughout with painted antique furniture. The ten guestrooms are individually decorated and have private bathrooms, the majority complete with Victorian claw-foot tubs and showers, most have fireplaces, and one has a private spa tub.

Scandinavian colors dominate the parlor, along with its fireplace and soft classical music, and the perfect escape from the rushing world is created.

Dining Room Your stay with us includes a full gourmet breakfast (served at 9 a.m. in our dining room). Tea, coffee and fresh-baked cookies are available upon check in. Each evening we host a wine and hors d'oeuvres social. Before retiring, enjoy our signature chocolate lovers desserts.

The Old World Inn is air-conditioned to make your stay more enjoyable in the summer months. Outside, there is a large custom Jacuzzi to soothe, refresh and revitalize you.

I learned the 'art of hospitality' during my early years in Holland, where I was born and raised. Later educated in France, I had the opportunity to work at the finest restaurants in Paris. Owning a Bed & Breakfast Inn was a dream I held for many years. My purchase of Old World Inn, six years ago, was a perfect fit for my vision of innkeeping at its best!"

When you return to your room to retire, you will find a chocolate-lover's dessert buffet of homemade truffles, chocolate walnut fudge, and chocolate Amaretto torte, to name just a few.
