Cambria and the surrounding hamlets of San Simeon, Harmony, Cayucos, Morro Bay and the inland wine regions offer a wealth of fun activities that can be enjoyed for a two day or weeklong stay! We are dedicated to ensuring that your visit at Olallieberry Inn and the Central Coast will be a fabulously unforgettable experience.

Because Fun Matters

Hearst Castle: In the Santa Lucia Mountains of California on a hilltop overlooking the Pacific Ocean, craftsmen labored nearly 28 years to create La Cuesta Encantada "The Enchanted Hill", a magnificent estate of 165 rooms, and 127 acres of gardens, terraces, pools, and walkways. Its rooms were furnished with an impressive collection of Spanish and Italian antiques and art. FOR RESERVATIONS / 1-800-444-4445

National Geographic Theater Hearst Castle: Experience 5-story tall movies! Located in San Simeon at the Hearst Castle Visitor Center. For Show Times call 927-6811

Moonstone Beach: This magnificent beach is a healthy walk from Olallieberry Inn or a very short drive. Most extraordinary are the tidepools, surfing, picnicking, bird watching, viewing sunrise and sunsets, as well as strolling along the extensive wooded walkway that spans the oceanfront.

Piedras Blancas Lighthouse: Piedras Blancas is Spanish for "the white rocks", so named because of the white rocks bleached by centuries of bird guano. The name was given to this point of land, just north of Hearst Castle, by Juan Cabrillo in1572. Construction began on the first lighthouse at Piedras Blancas in 1872 and was completed in 1875 at which time the original light source was installed. This original Fresnel lens was replaced with an automatic electric beacon in 1949. Fortunately the "Friends of the Piedras Blancas Lighthouse" has preserved this lens for public viewing in the "lantern room" located at the Pinedorado Grounds on Main Street in Cambria.

Elephant Seal Viewing: Ask your innkeeper for the best viewing times and locations.

Shopping and Dining: Cambria has a wealth of shops and restaurants.

Wine Tasting: The Wine Wrangler is your ultimate choice for Paso Robles wine country excursions. They offer an insider's view of the Paso Robles Appellation Wine Region.

Art & Culture: Cambria is well known as an artist colony. This is reflected in the many staged events and groups / clubs that call this town "home" - here is a partial list: Allied Arts Association, Little Theater, Garden Clubs, Instrumental Music Ensembles, Writer's Club & Adult Recreation Center. Two specific events:

  • The Cambria Art & Wine Festival during the last weekend in January is the perfect time to enjoy much of what makes Cambria such an interesting and rich community.
  • Holidays in the Pines - the town is all decked out for the holidays, with many merchants and restaurants offering specials/discounts. A magical time to visit Olallieberry and Cambria!

Recreation: Hiking trails, bicycling, surfing, tide pools, beach-combing, rock hunting and fishing. Lawn bowling, tennis, picnic facilities, public swimming pool, and a skateboard park are all part of the year-round recreation opportunities in Cambria.

Beyond Cambria: If you plan to visit the Gold Country, please consider a stay at Shafsky House. This 1902 Queen Anne Victorian home in Placerville's Historic District provides a wonderful taste of rich heritage, both inside and out.
