On the hillside, just above the village, a homestead was built in 1877, subsequently becoming the location of the Occidental Water Bottling Company. Now this site provides the setting for The Inn at Occidental. This Victorian, restored in 1988 with fir floors, wainscotted hallways and covered porches, includes architectural details blending the old and the new to offer the most elegant appointments of an outstanding wine country inn.
