Mount Shasta is in Siskiyou County, in the Shasta Cascades region of California. Each year, Mount Shasta plays host to the annual Mount Shasta International Film Festival. In the summer, Mount Shasta is filled by the drumbeats of the annual Shasta Taiko Festival, a blend of music and movement centered on Japanese style drums. The Mount Shasta Lavendar Farms are a beautiful attraction only 20 minutes north of the city. The Turtle Bay Exploration Park is also nearby, as well as the Sisson Museum, which documents the history of climbing Mt. Shasta. Hungry? Try Lily's Restaurant, voted the Finest in Northern California. Lily's features a sumptuous breakfast menu, and a varied selection of fresh food for vegetarians and meat lovers alike.
