Choose one of our bright, uniquely charming rooms - all with private baths and five with breathtaking ocean views. Or choose one of our garden view rooms that overlook our superb gardens. You will wake up to the waves crashing over Abalone Cove's breath-taking sea stacks, while hearing and later seeing the barking sea lions that colonize the turtle sea stack just below the Inn.

Hungry? Visit our beautiful dining room. Partake of our gourmet breakfasts that change every day that you are at the Inn. Indulge in our bountiful, gourmet breakfast of casseroles, frittatas, cobblers, coffeecakes and scones.
Enjoy our afternoon tea, complete with homemade pastries, cookies and cakes, served with wine, sherry, and juice.
After breakfast, wind your way down our private path to the beach. We have several decks that you can sit on to enjoy a private moment while viewing Abalone Cove. We are one of the only inns on the west coast that can boast of a scenic, wooded trail leading to our secluded private beach and cove complete with jutting rocks, tide pools that are brimming with abundant marine life.
Or walk out the front door, turn left, and in minutes you are at beautiful Patrick's Point State Park. Enjoy whale watching along the Rim Trail. Picnic in the woods and pastures or hunt for jade and agates on the Agate Beach at the north end of the park. Visit the Indian Ceremonial village where you can enter the log homes of the past.
Don't miss hiking through the majestic redwoods in Redwood National Park and Prairie Creek State Park a twenty minutes' drive to the north, where you'll walk under the trees whose average age is 700 years. In that same area, you'll find Fern Canyon, abundant with ferns and herds of elk, providing photo opportunities galore ...or bring your bicycle to cruise the quiet coastal roads overlooking miles of unspoiled beach. Picnic at Big Lagoon State Park. Humboldt Lagoons State Park boasts five fresh/salt water invasion marshes. All these parks are located in between Patrick's Point State Park and Redwood National Park.
Visit the quaint fishing village of Trinidad where you can charter a boat for deep sea fishing, or spend the day at one of the many beaches in the area, ideal for surfing, sailing, kayaking or wind surfing. Shop in the shops and galleries that are in town that carry wonderful gift items and art.
Near the end of the day, partake of an afternoon tea of wine, sherry and pastries. Soak in our hot tub overlooking the ocean and watch the glorious sunset. Afterward, indulge in the culinary expertise of our nearby award-winning restaurants.
In the quiet of the night, lounge in the living room and listen to music or engage in conversation with other guests. Curl up with a good book from our library in front of a warming fire.
If you're bringing the kids, be assured there are endless ways to channel their boundless energies. While you're relaxing on the deck, they'll have the run of the enclosed grounds as they pick berries near the greenhouse. Also, they'll have fun in our elaborate playground and playhouse. At day's end, they'll delight in sleeping in their very own loft.
For those of you who come in the winter months, the excitement of ocean storms is an added attraction. The peace and solitude can be a refreshing and welcome break from your fast-paced life.
