Klamath, California is located less than 5 miles north of Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park on Highway 101. Klamath is famous for its annual Salmon Festival which takes place in August. The celebration includes a parade, vendors, and, of course, a smoked salmon competition! Have you ever wanted to drive right through a tree? Well, Klamath is the place to do it! There is a very interesting attraction called "Tour Thru Tree" where you can drive right through a California redwood! Speaking of trees, check out another attraction called 'Trees of Mystery" which features a 49-foot tall statue of Paul Bunyon. In late August, the town holds the Klamath Fishing Derby. For restaurants, a great place to go is Country Club Bar & Grill which serves burgers, seafood, ribs and, of course, salmon! Another great restaurant is The Forest Cafe with its beautiful interior decor.
