Located in an historic residential neighborhood, the inn is within walking distance to the Bay and the wonderful restaurants in Old Town. And within short driving distances, the Lost Coast and Redwood National Park, Jewels of the Redwood Coast, await you! Named for the Kingfisher bird of legend, who calmed the Winter Solstice seas for mariners, the Inn provides a serene respite for its guests.
For the many guests who have returned time and again and all the referrals that past guests have sent us, we are most grateful.
They are the highest compliments innkeepers can ever receive!

Halcyon Inn features a Country French dining room restored to the polished beauty of the 1920's.

Delectable Breakfasts Might Include:

Belgian Waffles
Baked apple or whole wheat pancakes
Sourdough French Toast
Cheese & Veggie Omelets
Fabulous Frittatas

We do not use hydrogenated oils or any trans-fats in any of our dishes.
Breakfasts are served with sausage or bacon, if desired, fruit, choice of juice, coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
Vegetarians happily accommodated.
Continental or Low Carb breakfasts available upon request.
Omega 3 eggs, Smart Balance, organic milk, organic sugar (unrefined) and organic granola are staples in our kitchen.
Possible small charge for some menu changes.

The grounds are well kept and inviting, including many colors of spectacular rhododendrons and Camellias. Outdoor we have a fireplace, table & chairs and a quiet area for reading. Hummingbirds are regular visitors to our flowering gardens.

You are invited to come into the Library to play a game of cards, read in peace and quiet, or if you are musically inclined, play our 19th century Scottish piano! Board games are available too. Wireless Hi-speed Internet is provided at no charge to our guests. The Inn features authentic and distinguished furnishings.

Each room has a private bath and a Queen-size four poster bed. One guest room can accommodate a 3/4 rollaway bed. The main floor room has an attached bath. All doorways on the main floor are wheelchair accessible. Serta mattresses and 100% Egyptian cotton sheets and towels are provided in each guest room. One guest room has a ocean and bay view. We are not able to serve wine to our guests; however, we can chill it or any other beverage and do provide ice, glasses, and cork pull! Afternoon tea is served by request and bottled water and sodas are provided in the guest refrigerator.

There are two ex-racing Whippets living in the house: Blarneystone Tularosa (Rosa), Champion and Blarneystone Shoreline Lily (Lily), Champion. These sweet and loving senior girls always use their manners and do not go into guest areas or where food is served. If any of our guests would like to meet them, Rosa and Lily would be most gracious, though at times, they can be shy and retiring.
