The Chalfant House, a magnificently restored, old tyme home is located in Bishop California, a small western town in the shadow of the Majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains. Situated directly across from the public library, this quiet, yet centrally located bed and breakfast is just one block off Main Street, within walking distance to galleries, gift shops, and antique shops. It's just a short drive to beautiful mountain lakes and streams, museums and popular sites like the Bristle Cone Forest. Just point in any direction and there's something interesting to see and do. The inn was originally built in 1898 by Mr. Plesant A. Chalfant, Editor and Publisher of the first newspaper in the Owens Valley. |

Guests often relax in the downstairs parlor in the afternoon and evening enjoying an old book off the book shelf or watching TV. Mix aromas of home cooking, Victorian atmosphere, a bountiful fresh breakfast, and you will remember it til bedtime. You have arrived at The Chalfant House in Bishop California! A full complimentary gourmet breakfast featuring an entree, homemade breads, fresh fruits and juice is served every morning at 7:30 or 8:30 am. Each guest room is named after a member of the Chalfant Family and is tastefully furnished with comfortable beds, lovely antiques, handmade quilts and comforters. All rooms are designed for double occupancy. Guest rooms have private baths, ceiling fans, central air and are smoke free. Rates are per night, based on double occupancy. Single rate is $5 less. Additional person in Suite Flora or Blance is $20. |
| Adeline Room | Named after Mrs. Chalfant, this lovely room is located on the ground floor with the old style 11 foot ceiling. Tastefully appointed with a queen size bed, antique armorie and is the only room with a bathtub & shower. The Adeline Room also has a private entrance with access to a small patio. | $100/night |
| The Pleasant Room | Named after Mr. Chalfant, the Pleasant suite is just that. Decorated in a dusty rose atmosphere with an antique queen size bed, an oak dresser and armorie. This room is also located on the ground floor with a private bath/shower and a private entrance to its own patio. | $100/night |
| Willie's Room | Named after Adeline & Pleasant’s only son “Willie”. This is an upstairs room with twin beds and is best described as a bathroom with a sunken bedroom. Decorated in an English tutor theme, this room mis suspended between between the 1st & 2nd floors with a stair to the private bathroom. | $95/night |
| Agnes' Attic Room | A cute room situated on the second floor with a queen size bed covered with warm flower garden quilt. A private bath and wash hutch with antique dresser and of course, Breakfast in the morning ! | $90/night |
| Emma's Attic Room | Remember when good things came in small packages ? Well this pagkage has BIG charm. Decorated in cool mauve and cranberry, with a double size bed, private bath, and wash hutch. An upstairs room with warm comfort and quietness. | $85/night |
