Introduction
Welcome to Belrose House. Warm and inviting, Belrose House offers you a comfortable home during your visit to the Bay Area. Spacious social areas, a private courtyard with a covered veranda and swimming pool, and a gracious hostess ensure your comfort.
Each morning, you’ll enjoy fresh-baked breads from the local bakery, Peet’s specialty coffee and teas, and fresh fruit in season. In the evenings, explore the area’s spectacular restaurants and cultural events, or help yourself to tea and sherry around the fireplace. The original Ballantine architecture is complemented by the owner’s collection of books, antiques, and a baby grand piano.
THE ROOMS
Each guest room has a private full bathroom and television with cable.
The Master Suite is large and sunny, with French doors leading to a private second-floor veranda. It has a fireplace, dressing room, and a king-sized bed.
The East Room is warm and charming, furnished with antiques and a queen-sized bed.
The tranquil Third Room is set at the back of the house. Quiet and peaceful, it has a twin bed and writing table.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Nestled in one of Berkeley’s most charming neighborhoods, Belrose house is just a short walk from the restaurants, boutiques, cafés and bookstores of Berkeley’s upscale Claremont and Elmwood districts. Historic walking paths are a wonderful way to enjoy local architecture and the natural beauty of nearby Tilden Regional Park. We’re less than a mile from the University of California at Berkeley and only two blocks from Clark Kerr campus.
GETTING AROUND
Getting around is easy. Many local destinations are within walking distance, and San Francisco is just across the Bay Bridge. Off-street parking is included with your stay, and public transit is a popular alternative. Just walk around the corner to catch the local #7 bus, which runs every half hour and connects to BART, our regional rail transit system. For more information, please visit www.transitinfo.org.
YOUR HOSTESS
Pat Hanscom purchased Belrose House from the original owners in 1976, and has lived here ever since. She also has an antiques shop in Downtown Berkeley, and has furnished the house from her own collections.
