Spring or Summer?! St Patrick's DayThe calendar says it's not even St. Patrick's Day yet, but robins are hopping around the yard, daffodils are popping up, primroses are growing and our chickens are laying eggs like crazy! What a strange winter, or non-winter this has been. So, it may as well just move into Spring so we can get an early start on gardening, bird watching and biking.
I actually got my bike out yesterday, dusted it off and did a few easy miles, didn't even need a heavy jacket or any gloves. I've also been able to hang laundry on the clothesline, so the sheets have that fresh, outdoors smell.

Speaking of St Patrick's Day there are some nice things going on this weekend. The church in Swanzey Center will have a Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner at only $8.50 per person, it is probably the best deal in town. Delrossi's Trattoria (yes, I know it sounds not Irish) will have a Celtic Harp program with harpists from County Mayo, Ireland and Glasgow, Scotland. Coincidently Delrossi's is located in Dublin (New Hampshire).
At the Tartan Fox we will be serving Irish Soda Bread, 2 kinds of marmalade-all homemade and a traditional Irish Breakfast, plus we are offering rooms at 17% off the regular rate. That means a little money to keep in your pot of gold!
