Spring Fever!

With the Cannon River running high and the green tips of tulips surfacing in local gardens, Spring makes a welcome return to the friendly town of Northfield.  As the melt down proceeds, there are plenty of activities happening in the area, indoors and out, to enjoy as the rising temperatures lift our spirits.

Monday, March 22     Faculty Recital:      Christopher Atzinger, piano, St Olaf College, Urness Recital Hall,  7pm

Monday, March 22     Senior Recital:  Signe Rosenau, mezzo-soprano and Megan Dvorak, oboe, St Olaf College, Urness Recital Hall, 8:15 pm

March 23- April 15     Juried Exhibit of Student Artwork, Flaten Art Museum, Dittman Center, 1520 St. Olaf Avenue

March 24- April 24    All School Art Show, "Artrageous", Northfield Arts Guild

Thursday, March 25     Book Reading/Signing: Siri Hustvedt  Husvedt's latest book, "The Shaking Woman or AHistory of My Nerves" is due out this month.  Time and place TBD.  Call 507-645-6606 for information.

March 25-27     Theater:  Angel Street, A Victorian Thriller, Paradise Center for the Arts, Faribault, MN, 7:30pm

Friday, March 27     Bingo with prizes!  Froggy Bottoms River Pub

Sunday, March 28     Quiz Night at the Contented Cow, Foursomes compete for prizes, $4 entry fee per 4 person team, (every Sunday at 8pm)

Tuesday, March 30     Night Hikes, River Bend Nature Center, Faribault, Mn, 7:30 pm, take a moon-lit excursion around the trails!

Tuesday, March 30     Theater:  Much Ado About Nothing, Shattuck-St. Mary's, Faribault, MN, 7:30pm

At Carleton College:  Concerts, plays and art exhibits in the Muisic and Drama Center.  Nationally renowned speakers at Friday Convocations.  Goodsell Observatory: open to the public on the first Friday of each month for unsurpassed viewing of stars, planets, and nebulas.  The Arboretum, offering 880 acres for hiking, cross country skiing and bird watching.  (www.carlton.edu)
